Don't let an under-performing roof system cause you unnecessary headaches. Pro-Shield Roof Restoration can provide you with an economical answer to extending the life of your roof with restorative coatings. Roof restoration is the process of cleaning, repairing, sealing and re-coating a tile, metal or flat roof system to ensure that it is kept in optimal condition. As part of overall building maintenance, roof restoration can identify any weaknesses and repair them accordingly to ensure the roof stays functional. We provide many coating options, from reflective coatings to cements and sealants.

  • Reduced Cooling Bills -  ENERGY STAR-qualified roof coatings lower your roof’s surface temperature and decrease your building’s interior temperature by an average of seven to 10 degrees.

  • Extended Roof Life -   The right roof coating increases your roof’s waterproof quality guarding your roof from harmful sun rays, prevents UV damage, and reflects heat away from the roof’s surface. This increases the longevity of your covering while lowering maintenance expenses.

  • Useful With a Variety of Materials - Roof coatings are formulated to adhere to a wide range of roofing surface types, including metal roofs, asphalt roofs, composite roofs, galvanized metal, wood, and other materials.

  • Avoid Early Roof Replacement -  Small leaks and other minor damage can be repaired before a roof coating is applied. In some cases, you may be able to avoid full-scale replacement of your roof for several years if you utilize the right coating for the job.

  • Fade Resistant -  Reflective roof coatings help your roof maintain its color over time, improving the overall look of your home as it ages.

  • Increase The Value of Your Building - Extended roof life increases the Property value of your building

Roof Coating Options

Acrylic/Elastomeric Coatings – Acrylic coatings are water-based materials that are made of a single component that does not require any additional component mixing. Pros of water-based acrylic coatings include low flammability and potential for toxicity hazards. Unlike most other coating options, acrylic materials come in a variety of colors to match your building’s color scheme. Cons include the requirement of many applied coating layers in the right external temperature for proper curing. There are limitations to when an acrylic coating should be applied - too cold and it will freeze; too hot and it will not set properly. When ponding water is present on roof surfaces for a period of 48 hours or more, acrylic roof coatings can begin to re-emulsify to their liquid state and lose adhesion
Silicone - coatings have been in the industry for a long time and are most commonly used to cover and protect spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofs due to the coating's permeability. Silicones are also very well-suited for areas with extreme temperature ranges and where UV exposure is more frequent. Silicone coatings provide a slick surface and, once applied, only another layer of silicone coating can be applied as the recoat. One drawback is high dirt pickup of these types of coatings. Therefore, they would not be ideal in highly visible areas where aesthetics are required. Also, silicone coatings have very low abrasion resistance, so they are not the ideal coating for areas of high traffic.
